About the Mbeya Bamboo Women Group Founded in 1997, the organization has been in existence continuously, producing quality bamboo products for home and businesses for Tanzanians. The products are sold throughout the Republic of Tanzania to individuals placing orders and to businesses on a longer term contractual basis. 	The Bamboo WOMEN Group owes its origin to a Vocational Program offered in Njombe,a small village in Iringa Province.There the Tanzanian Government hired several Japanese Instructors to teach African Women various bamboo-making techniques over a two year period. After program completion they moved to the Soweto area in Mbeya town and begun making bamboo products. Today their small workshop is located in the Mwakibete area ,outside Mbeya town.
